Kulam

Kulams are little reservoirs or water basins built for storing rain water. This is used for irrigation purposes, drinking, etc. These are habitats for plants, insects, aquatic lifeforms and animals. A place for flora to flourish. These reservoirs help prevent flooding and soil erosion. These basins replenish the soil and make it fertile for growing crops. The kulams found inside temples
